The Logic Behind Writing

MR. Logicka

Hi, this is MR. Logicka. As my first writing, I would talk about the logic behind writing out our experiences or thoughts. I always fond of writing, since I was a kid. This is because when I was a kid, I was a late reader. However, once I started to learn how to read, I was so obsessed with reading everything I can put my hands on. And like any other writers, with all the reading materials, eventually you would have the feeling that you also can write with the knowledge and opinions that you have on the materials. I am not 100% sure if this is in everybody thoughts or is it just me but surely most of us would have this thinking like when you read a fiction "Why main character do this? and not that?" or "I wish the story is like this instead of like that". This is what I meant when I say the feeling to write. Means that you can think a better or to be precise a preferable storyline or ending that suite your taste. Hence with this line of thinking, you can proceed with the writing.

However, not everyone has the patience and time to write a story book or opinions or article about everything they read or watch. Nevertheless, I would still urge all of you to write something. At least, your everyday thoughts. Exactly! A diary or maybe a dream journal or something similar. (By the way, it does not matter if you are a boy or a girl, you can still write a diary. You can call it whatever you want.) I said this based on my own experiences. When you write your daily thoughts, especially the bad ones it is like all the thoughts flow somewhere rather than stays in your head. I found that this is helping with my way of thinking and my focus. I started to write a daily diary when I was 15 years old, and during this time I am about to face a major exam in that year. When I write in all my thoughts daily, no matter if it is about when I woke up, what I ate, and if I feel frustrated with a friend or an event that happening, anything at all. This helps my mind to clear a little bit.

Then I realize that compared to my other friends I can be more focus in classes. I would just listen to the lecture without taking any notes and I can remember all the points, and have it altered into my own language so I can understand it. It is only logic you see, without other messy things in your mind you can store other information inside. I think Sherlock Holmes also mentioned this in one of the books. (^_^). He said to Watson that the mind can only store a limited amount of knowledge and he do not want to put in anything that did not have anything to do with deduction or solving crimes. Which I am not completely agree though. In my opinion our mind is capable to store infinite knowledge, which is why we can still learn new skills everyday till the day we die. It is just that if it is too much then it is hard for us to concentrate or focus on what really matter.

By the way, I am not here to talk about the logic of this world that everyone needs to agree on. This logic I am talking about is my logic. The logic that I think supposed to be correct, according to what I know and believe in. So, I am just here to share, and you readers can decide whether my logics is coinciding with your logics. Continue with the diary writing, the whole year of my school I wrote in my entry on daily basis and most of them is about what I feel that day and sometimes a major event that happened in my life (like the big exam that year, my exam results). And not to say that only by writing a diary I could get a good result, but that year I aced the major exam with flying colours. I feel that the writing helps me to focus and stay on the track of what matters most to me in that period of my life.

So there, the major reason and the logic behind me encourage you to write. Especially in this pandemic era there must be a lot of depressing thoughts in everyone's mind. Let us talk about the Covid-19 pandemic situation. I always believe that everything bad that happened must have a good side too. We can see this as an opportunity to develop new interest and try new things (like writing of course 😁). You may be jobless, but it also means you has extra time in your hand. You may be starving but it also means you can investigate a new way to generate incomes and buy the necessity. You may have your business affected but it also means it could be a drive for you to be innovative again, or if you are not affected and you may have extra money, this might be the opportunity for you to start to share. So there, this is me try to find a positive side from this whole pandemic and movement restrictions. By writing about it. It may be just a thought I have before but by writing it surely contribute to me believing it a little bit more.

Hence, write people! Write! Whatever form it is you prefer, whatever time of day you want to or whatever subjects you want to write. You could be old school by write on a paper, in a book or if you live near a beach, you could write on the sand and let the wave erase them later. You could write on your Facebook post, Twitter, Instagram, blogs or any online platform you have. You could share it or keep it to yourself. You could write and burn them later. Whatever it is! Just write, and you would see what I try to say here. The logic of why I start to write and intend to continue to do so.

To be honest, it has been a while since I write anything, or read something for that matter. However, recently I start to read again (fictions book if you must know, I got to start with something interesting right) and the urge to write has come again. This first writing of mine is the results of it. I sure hope that this sharing of mine could sparks some interest in you readers to try and write something and then share back with me the results. Not necessarily the writings, but the result of what happen or what you feel after you write.

I will stop my writing here today. Till we meet again.
